Date of first appearance of coronal hole in EUV at east limb: 2025-08-02
Note: Characterized by an increase in solar wind speeds from approx. 338km/s at 2025-08-08T12:02Z to approx. 580km/s at 2025-08-08T23:32Z. Solar wind speeds then briefly decrease to approx. 450km/s at 2025-08-08T23:35Z, before rising back up to approx. 630km/s at 2025-08-09T15:54Z. These fluctuations in solar wind speeds are accompanied by an enhancement in magnetic field components (B_total reaching 18nT) and temperature (reaching approx. 500kK). This coronal hole high speed stream signature may also be combined with the arrival of CME: 2025-08-05T16:48Z. An additional increase in solar wind speeds was observed beginning at approx. 2025-08-12T06:44Z, raising speeds from approx. 500km/s at 2025-08-12T06:10Z to 630km/s at 2025-08-12T14:00Z. This secondary increase is likely a continuation of influence from the same coronal hole, which decreased briefly due to its morphology. Some influence from a Northern positive polarity coronal hole which crossed central meridian on 2025-08-09, may also be possible.
